Literacy and School Readiness

Since founding a Kindergarten more than 100 years ago, NCJW NY has been committed to boosting literacy skills and fostering school-readiness for our city’s most marginalized populations, especially low-income New Yorkers and newly arrived immigrants. Today, we carry on this legacy, partnering with some of our city’s finest youth-serving organizations to produce the city’s most comprehensive back-to-school preparation event every August and provide reading tutors for children throughout the school year.
