NCJW NY Facilities Coordinator (Full-Time)

National Council of Jewish Women New York (NCJW NY) is seeking a Building Maintenance and Food Pantry Worker to join our team. This role reports to the Director of Finance & Operations.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, exact hours TBD.

Salary:

$45K-50K, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Organized; able to keep track of multiple tasks and responsibilities throughout the day and week.
  • Computer literate.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and equipment operation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with volunteers and staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Building Maintenance:

  • Regularly check the building’s systems and equipment.
  • Respond to maintenance requests by staff and volunteers.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair jobs.
  • Maintain all building areas and equipment in clean and safe condition, by completing all duties listed on a detailed daily schedule.
  • Report all maintenance issues to Director of Operations, assist her in scheduling any needed repairs and replacements, and oversee work done by plumbers, electricians, HVAC, and other contractors.

Hunger Program (Food Pantry and Community Kitchen):

  • Receive food deliveries and bring to storage area.
  • Rotate boxes by expiration date and keep track of pantry inventory including supplies.
  • Report the results of inventory to the Director of Operations.
  • Pick up food and other donations from local retailers.
  • Set up Pantry food distribution area and assist during distribution with re-stocking, etc.
  • Help manage the lines for Hunger Program service and address customer questions and issues.

Other:

  • Plan and execute room set-ups, breakdowns and installations for facility’s routine programming and special events.
  • Make coffee for Council House visitors and class participants.
  • Execute large print projects – copying, collating, binding, etc.
  • Operate Pitney Bowes mailing equipment (sealing and stamping) and take mail to the post office.
  • Work flexible hours if necessary to provide support for evening meetings and weekends.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
