Join Us for a Virtual Event About Reproductive Rights, Prop 1, and the Post-Election Landscape
Please join us on Thursday, January 9th, at 1 p.m. for a virtual discussion with Katharine Bodde of the New York Civil Liberties Union and Cassandra Klewicki of the New York Abortion Access Fund. They will be discussing the state of abortion access in New York, how passage of the Prop 1 ballot measure will affect us here, and what we can do to prepare for the incoming administration.

Katharine Bodde is NYCLU’s Interim Co-Director and Senior Policy Counsel, specializing in gender equality and reproductive rights issues. Prior to joining NYCLU in 2009, Bodde worked as a legal educator in Cambodia for communities in provincial areas focusing on the legal and extralegal remedies for violations of women’s rights and citizens’ land rights. She currently teaches a course at Cardozo Law School on Reproductive Rights Law and Justice and is the former Chair of the Sex and Law Committee at the New York City Bar Association. Bodde graduated magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School with special recognition for her work in international law and women’s rights and her strong commitment to public service.
Cassandra Klewicki is a dedicated advocate for reproductive rights with extensive experience in nonprofit management, labor organizing, and community outreach. She currently serves as an Intake Support Coordinator at the New York Abortion Access Fund, the only abortion fund in NYS. At NYAAF, she manages funding requests and supports case managers on complex cases. As a Co-Founder and Lead Campaign Project Manager of Tradeswomen Building Bridges International, Cassandra has planned and led significant international delegations and virtual conferences, fostering global connections among labor activists. Cassandra is a Board Member for the Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Action Fund.
NYAAF was founded in 2001 and supports New Yorkers and people traveling to New York State to access abortion care through financial assistance, case management, and connections to other resources.
