We all know that the person who has a dementia disorder experiences losses, deficits, and challenges. But caring for such individuals puts a strain on the caregiver’s brain which can make it hard to have the emotional flexibility caregiving demands. Let’s discuss these obstacles and what this means when we communicate with caregivers.
NCJW NY has been serving people with dementia in our LINC (Lunch, Interaction, Nurturing and Companionship) Program and supporting their caregivers for more than 20 years through weekly Caregivers Support groups and workshops.
Please register by December 2nd. For questions, email lmaun@ncjwny.org.
