This event is free and open to PLSP participants and alumni. Light refreshments will be served.
Presenters:
Elizabeth Schmermund, author of Alexander the Great, is an assistant professor in English at SUNY Old Westbury. She has written about stillbirth, grief, and reproductive rights in venues including The Independent and Months to Years.
Esther Casas Roura is a filmmaker known for blending metaphorical storytelling with animation. She will be showing her short film, “FLOCKY,” an animated allegory navigating pregnancy, exploring the connection between a mother and her unborn child.
Following the presentations, we will be holding a short candle-lighting and memorial ceremony to honor the pregnancy and infant losses experienced by our PLSP participants. Virtual option also available for this event. Please email plsp@ncjwny.org for more details.
